Southern Africa Tourism Alliance
Harnessing Tourism for Economic Growth in Southern Africa
A non-profit alliance uniting the public and private sectors to grow responsible travel and tourism to, from and within the SADC region.
OUR MISSION
Key Focus Areas
The Southern Africa Tourism Alliance is a non-profit, membership-based association that serves as a catalyst for the responsible development of travel and tourism to, from, and within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
By uniting our private and public sector members, the Tourism Alliance facilitates impactful partnerships to boost the value, quality, and sustainable growth of travel and tourism to, from, and within the SADC region. We do this by working with private and public sector stakeholders across the region in such areas as raising the visibility of the destination, identifying skills gaps hampering tourism private sector, facilitating events and information sharing, and promoting improved accessibility to facilitate inbound and intra-regional travel within the SADC.
Reputation Management
Enhancing SADC's global standing, our regional destination reputation management efforts strategically promote the region's diverse offerings, address challenges and build a positive, unified tourism brand for the benefit of all member states.
Capacity Building
Fueling regional growth through talent, our capacity building initiatives aim to upskill tourism staff across SADC, driving industry excellence, boosting service quality and fostering a competitive, well-equipped workforce.
Enhancing Access
Unlocking regional potential through better access. We're championing policies and initiatives that enhance air and road connectivity, and smooth border experiences, creating seamless journeys throughout the SADC region.
